The Village of Hobart operates through a network of departments, offices, and administrative systems responsible for daily operations, compliance, and continuity. This listing reflects publicly acknowledged structures. Not all Village systems are listed, named, or continuously active.

Clerk’s Office
Central administrative authority responsible for statutory compliance, certifications, records coordination, and calendar enforcement. -
Department of Civil Control & Enforcement
Oversees code enforcement, permitting, inspections, and regulatory compliance. Operates administratively under the Clerk’s Office. -
Department of Revenue & Fiscal Stabilization (DRFS)
Oversees fiscal coordination, certification, and cross-system accounting. View fiscal overview. -
Office of Records Management & Archives
Responsible for records retention, archival systems, certifications, and restricted or classified materials. Serves as the final repository for official determinations unless otherwise noted. -
Office of Infrastructure Coordination
Manages streets, facilities, capital projects, utilities coordination, and long-range infrastructure planning. Coordinates with Public Works for execution. -
Department of Public Works
Responsible for sanitation, street maintenance, seasonal operations, and emergency response logistics. -
Department of Public Safety
Coordinates public safety operations in cooperation with county agencies, emergency services, and mutual aid partners. -
Hobart Volunteer Fire Department
Provides fire suppression, rescue services, and limited hazard response. Staffed entirely by volunteers. Training nights are Tuesdays. -
Office of Environmental Quiet & Wildlife Control
Oversees environmental monitoring, noise mitigation, wildlife management, and animal control services. -
Office of Communications
Responsible for public information, notices, messaging, and narrative coordination. Provides administrative direction to Civic Broadcasting. -
Department of Civic Broadcasting
Operates the municipal transmitter and maintains the Community Signal (PAL-TV). All public announcements are subject to tone review and archival. -
Tunnel Registry Committee (currently suspended)
Formerly charged with cartography and sealing operations. Funding paused indefinitely.

Hobart Municipal Utilities Commission
Listed here as a required public service. Not a Village department.
The Hobart Municipal Utilities Commission (HMUC) is technically responsible for providing water, sewer, electrical, and internet services to the Village.
