Counting Hour
Counting Hour is observed every Thursday, from 3:00 to 4:11 PM. During this time all offices suspend ordinary accounting and acknowledge a single count. No corrections are made. No reconciliations are attempted.
Proclamation Establishing Counting Hour
Whereas the ordinary keeping of record has proven insufficient to maintain civic calm;
Whereas discrepancies in ledger, minute, and receipt have produced delay, confusion, and undue inquiry;
And whereas the continued operation of the Village requires a shared temporal reference;
Be it proclaimed:
That a regular hour shall be observed, during which all offices shall suspend ordinary accounting and acknowledge a single count.
This hour shall serve as the point of agreement.
No corrections shall be made during this time.
No reconciliations shall be attempted.
The count shall stand.
