Getting Here
By Road
Route 3 / State St. runs east–west through town. Gallia St. and Court St. run north–south to the civic core.
Hocking St. runs north–south through the central industrial and market district.
Canal St. runs from the West Virginia Bridge north–south.
Note: The Route 3 Pit Stop is temporarily closed pending compliance. Fuel is available in Guthrie, WV (across the bridge) and at stations west toward Symmes Landing and Leadville.
Parking
- Civic Lot (Court & Symmes): Free, 2-hour limit, 8a–6p.
- Bandstand / Green: Street parking on Mulberry & Scioto.
- Overflow: Hobart High School, 400 High St. (event nights only).
Points of Interest
- Chaffin Place (Hobart Historical Society) – Guided tours select weekends. Exhibits include early plats, river town artifacts, and rotating lectures by Dr. Loretta Marlowe. Upper floors and archives closed to the public.
- Partridge Estate (Hobart Garden Club) – Grounds overlook the village from the west ridge. Seasonal flower shows and the Chrysanthemum Dinner. Please remain on marked paths.
- Radar Ridge Overlook & Transmitter – Clear-day views of four counties. Sudden wind shifts common; secure hats and loose items.
- Water Towers (Gallia St. Terminus) – Iconic blue-and-white towers operated by HMUC. Best viewed from Alma. No climbing.
- The Mural Behind the Post Office – Painted overnight in 2006. No artist identified. Locals report minor seasonal variation.
- Mulberry Bend Culvert – Historic drainage works. Observe from across the street. Mid-morning preferred.
- Bandstand on the Green – Community music, farmers’ tables, and festival remarks. If lost, return here and wait.
Some areas, upper floors, maintenance corridors, and infrastructure zones may be temporarily restricted due to inspection or review.

- The Rusty Spoke – Biker bar on Gallia. Karaoke Thursdays.
- The Furnace Taproom – Craft brews in a converted mill. Possibly haunted.
- Taco Well – Home of the XXXL 18-Layer Burrito.
- Pho Real – Authentic Vietnamese cuisine in Hobart’s most exclusive strip mall.
- The Oompah House – German-themed bar with seasonal festival performances.
- Fryer’s Club – Fried chicken and live accordion music on Fridays.
- The Foxhole – Basement dive bar with year-round Christmas lights and nightly karaoke.
- The Moonlight Lounge – Hobart’s only supper club, known for the neon crescent moon sign and rotating martinis.
- Aztec Palace – Where they will set your dinner on fire.

Visitor Guidelines
- Curfew is dusk. Curfew is always dusk. Please plan accordingly.
- Doors marked “Authorized Local Access Only” are not part of the tour.
- Stay on sidewalks near canal works; footing may be uneven.
- Wildlife (raccoons, possums) are common. Do not feed or approach.
- Some restrictions apply differently to residents and visitors.
- If lost, return to the bandstand and wait. Someone will arrive.

Alerts & Notices
Emergency and civic alerts are posted to PAL-TV Channel 6 and the east lobby bulletin board at Village Hall. Interfax notices may appear as scanned bulletins.
Boil orders (if any) will be posted to PAL-TV and the Village Facebook page.
Meetings & Check-In
Visitors are welcome at public meetings. Seating is first-come. Residents must check in via the CivicKey app; visitors may sign a paper log.
Large meetings may be held at Hobart High School, 400 High St.
Utilities & Services
Hobart Municipal Utilities Commission (HMUC) operates water, sewer, and electric services. The Village does not manage HMUC billing or shut-offs. Website: hobartutilities.com.
Interfax: Official filings may be transmitted at Village Hall during business hours. After hours, limited access may be available at the Route 3 Pit Stop (pending re-opening).
